Hammered copper has its origins in pre-Columbian Mexico. This craft has remained almost unchanged since its early days being the main occupation and income generator of various regions in central Mexico mainly in the state of Michoacan. The fabrication of these pieces is totally hand made and rustic; first copper is melted over wood fires, sheets of the metal are created and then individually hand-hammered into the desired shape. If there's a handle required, such as for a sink or kettle, only then will a separate piece of copper be used.

Installation:
This type of sinks are easy to install. If you want top use it as a drop in sink, it is mounted from above the counter with a visible rim that lies across the surface. The counter is cut the size and shape of the sink, (Normally 0.75" less than the rim to rim measurements) the self-rimming sink edges sit on the counter after the sink has been dropped into place.
If you prefer you can also install it above the counter as a vessel sink. In both configurations the sink will give your home a unique look and style.
Faucets are mounted over the countertop.
